Build a Career in Personal Injury Accounting - Not Just Bookkeeping

PI Ledger is a backend accounting team built exclusively for personal injury law firms in the United States.

Here, you work on real and technically demanding financial processes - including settlement funds, check writing, IOLTA reconciliation, trust accounting, and operating bookkeeping. This is not generic data entry. It is specialized accounting work where accuracy, documentation, and professional judgment matter.

A Specialist Career Path

What Makes Working Here Different

You’ll Specialize, Not Generalize

We work with one type of client: personal injury law firms. That focus allows our team to develop deep expertise instead of gaining only surface-level exposure across unrelated industries.

You’ll learn how MedPay, IOLTA activity, fee-sharing arrangements, medical liens, settlement disbursements, client payouts, and the complete settlement lifecycle fit together.

Your Work Carries Real Responsibility

Every check prepared and every ledger reconciled connects to a real settlement, a real client, and a law firm’s trust-accounting responsibilities.

Errors can create consequences for clients and law firms. That is why the work is approached with discipline, documented controls, and multiple levels of review - not as routine transaction processing.

You’ll Be Reviewed - and Learn to Review Others

Our work follows a three-level review structure:

Preparer Reviewer Closer

Team members develop by having their work carefully reviewed and, as they progress, learning how to review the work of others. This creates a practical path from task execution to professional judgment and ownership.

You’ll Grow Into More Complex Work

Career growth at PI Ledger means moving toward greater responsibility.

You may begin with structured check preparation or bookkeeping tasks and progress into trust reconciliation, exception handling, historical cleanup, quality review, and client-engagement ownership.

For experienced professionals, the path can also lead to managing a dedicated accounting team built exclusively for an individual client firm.

Leadership Path

Grow With a Client, Not Just a Team

For senior team members, some roles can develop into managing a dedicated accounting team built for a single client firm.

This means taking responsibility for that firm’s accounting operation in India - including team performance, process discipline, review quality, exception management, and client coordination.

If you are interested in team leadership and client ownership - not only individual casework - that career path exists at PI Ledger.

The People Who Fit

Who We’re Looking For

We hire across different experience levels - from people at the beginning of their accounting careers who want to build a specialization, to experienced professionals ready to lead client engagements or manage a dedicated team.

Common Backgrounds That Work Well Here

  • Accounting, finance, or commerce graduates
  • Candidates with bookkeeping, accounts payable, check-writing, or reconciliation experience
  • Professionals experienced with QuickBooks or other accounting platforms
  • People with strong attention to detail and comfort with documentation-heavy work
  • Candidates who can investigate differences instead of simply forcing numbers to match
  • Professionals comfortable communicating with US clients
  • Candidates comfortable working on-site during Indian working hours

You do not need previous experience in personal injury law or legal accounting. We provide training for that.

What matters most is precision, discipline, accountability, curiosity, and the willingness to understand why a number is correct - not merely make it match.
